Emma Jean Spayd-McElroy,

89, passed away at 1:57 AM on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Wyngate Senior Living Community in Lima, Ohio.

Emma was born on Sunday, June 06, 1926, in Lima, Ohio, to Irvin and Gerrie (Lease) Stemen.

Emma loved gardening, bingo and working crossword puzzles. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Wyngate Senior Living Community and St. Rita's Hospice.

She is survived by a son, son, Charles Douglas (Laurie) Spayd; grand-daughter, Elizabeth Spayd; grandson; John Kovacs, great grandson, Kaleb Kovacs.

She is preceded in death by a daughter and son in-law, Paula (Tom) Goode.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH. Rev. Wanda Werking will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio.
