Erma Woodworth

Erma J. Woodworth, 74, died at 7:21 p.m. Aug. 28, 2010, at Bethesda Hospital, St. Paul, Minn. She was born Dec. 9, 1935, in Lima to Virgil D. and Grace E. Keller Miller, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 20, 1955, she married Ralph L. Woodworth, who died June 11, 2010. Mrs. Woodworth was a graduate of Spring Arbor Free Methodist High School, Spring Arbor, Mich., and received her bachelor?s degree in education from Eastern Illinois University. Her husband was also from Lima and was a Free Methodist pastor in churches in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin and college professor in colleges in Minnesota and Georgia. She occasionally worked in secretarial jobs, her last, before retiring was a secretary for the education department at Toccoa Falls College for nine years. She primarily was a homemaker. Following her retirement, she and her husband went on mission trips to Russia and the Ukraine and she went alone on mission trips to Taiwan. She collaborated with her husband in editing Christian books for Books with a Mission. She had worked part time for Helping Hands, providing in-home assistance to elderly and infirm persons. She enjoyed hiking, crocheting, attending church functions and spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Steven (Leah) Woodworth, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Timothy Woodworth, of Blaine, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and two brothers, Virgil E. (Marilyn) Miller, of Lima, and Jerry (Candi) Miller, of Vandalia. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Holiness Church. Pastor Donald Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Books with a Mission.
