Willard Davis,
88, of Lima, Ohio died on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at 2:30 P.M. at Lima Memorial Health System in Lima, Ohio.
Born August 11, 1924 in Chandlersville, Kentucky, he was the son of William Davis and Gracie (Moore) Davis.
On March 12, 1943, in Paintsville, KY., he married Carrie M. Ross, who preceded him in death in 2009. Mr. Davis retired from Buckeye Truck Sales after 39 years of working for International Harvester Franchises. He was a member of Crossroads Church of God. Following his retirement, he was a volunteer at Lima Memorial Health Systems for 20 years, where he was known as "the peanut brittle man."
Survivors include: a son, Ernie (Nancy) Davis of Elida, OH; a daughter, Jackie (Anthony) Tozzi of Canton, OH; two grandchildren, Jeff (Dawn) Davis of Spencerville, OH, and Jennifer (Mark) Shope of Morristown, TN; three great grandchildren, Kaylee, Collin and Emma, and a sister, Madlyn Hathaway, of Dayton, OH.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, Watson, Preston and Paul Davis; and by five sisters, Nina Davis, Ina Barnhart, Sybil Burchett, Ila Kehrwecker, and Audrey Zerbe.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Bargerstock officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, OH.
