Esther L. Omlor 90, died at 4:40 p.m. July 29, 2007, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born June 7, 1917, near Columbus Grove, Ohio to Edward and Emma Bockrath Rampe, who preceded her in death. She married Gerard Omlor, who was from Lima, Ohio, and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Omlor was a homemaker and had worked at Westinghouse Electric Corp. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio. She loved roses and poinsettias. She enjoyed relating memories of her parents, who spoke more German than English and of her teen years where she helped her brother Bob with farm work and her younger sisters and brothers with their schoolwork. She enjoyed being a mother and was very devoted to her family. Survivors include two sons, Robert A. (Shirley) Omlor, of Harrod, Ohio, and David (Maureen) Omlor, of Mesa, Arizona; a daughter, Barbara Omlor Peterson, of Fort Worth, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul E. (Bertha E.) Rampe, of Lima, Ohio; and three sisters, Franny Potts, of Black Mountain, N.Carolina, Elaine Rupert, of St. Mary?s, Ohio, and Rebecca Metzger, of Ravenna, Ohio. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Rampe and Raymond Rampe; two sisters, Ruth Hutchinson and Rita Traske; and a great-grandson, Matthew Acheson. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. William J. Rose will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in St. Anthony Cemetery, Columbus Grove, Ohio.
