Ethel B. Redding, 101, died at 6:35 a.m. July 30, 2008, at The Ridge at Shawnee. She was born April 7, 1907, in New Bremen, Ohio to Ferdinand and Clara Laut Paul. On March 7, 1923, she married Floyd J. Redding, who died September 22, 1968. Mrs. Redding was a homemaker and a babysitter. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mary Redding, of Lima, Ohio; a brother, Dan Paul, of Heuet, California; 10 grandchildren, David (Sue) Redding, Carolyn (Frank) Lanczak, Tim (Elayne) Redding, and Sue Bryan, all of Lima, Ohio, Lisa Ferguson, of Ada, Ohio, Jeff (Bridget) Redding, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Julie Redding, of Lima, Ohio, Maureen (Tom) Zipf, of Dayton, Ohio, Michael (Sue) Sweeney, of Worthville, Ktucky, and Lynn Sweeney, of Dayton, Ohio; and 17 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Redding; a daughter, Shirley Sweeney; and a brother, Richard Paul. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Stephen Blum will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
