Eugene Clark Marsteller

January 10, 1940 — August 9, 2018

Eugene Clark Marsteller, 78, of Lima, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:20 am at Lima Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on January 10, 1940 in Seneca County, Ohio to the late Lewis Clark and Mabel Lucille {Frankenfield} Marsteller. On June 12, 1960, he married Kay Marie Diegel, who survives him in Lima.

Eugene retired from Ford Motor Company as a shipping clerk. He loved to travel and cruise. He was a major fan of OSU Football and the Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping with the family around the campfire. He enjoyed playing Hand and Foot with his brother. His passion and frustration was golf. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, taking them for hamburgers and ice cream. He also loved watching his grandchildren play ball, ride horses, show rabbits, and going to museums with them.

He is survived by his sons Dan (Mel Stange) Marsteller, Jeff (Dianna) Marsteller, and Jim Marsteller, grandchildren Andrew (Camille) Marsteller,  Kylie (Matt) Thwaits, Stephen Marsteller, Lindsey Marsteller, Brittany Marsteller, and Eric Marsteller, great-grandchildren Josh Bales, Asa Marsteller, Kassidi Marsteller, Benjamin Thwaits, and Vera Marsteller, brother Oliver (Phyllis) Marsteller, sister Delores Drennen, and brother-in-law Llyod Treadway.

Eugene was preceded in death by his daughter Christine Marie Marsteller, brother Harold Marsteller, sisters Ellen Treadway and Annabelle (Warren “Bud”) Bible, and brother-in-law Burress Drennen.

His family will receive friends on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 5-8PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, OH.

A funeral service will begin at 11AM on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at First Missionary Church, 1105 W. Robb Ave, Lima, OH, with an hour of visitation at church from 10-11AM. Rev. Dr. Timothy White will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, OH.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Ronald McDonald House or First Missionary Church.
