Evelyn Bowers

Evelyn Bowers, 75, passed away at 6:58 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s. 

Evelyn was born on October 21, 1949, in Lima, Ohio, to Raymond Ball and Evelyn (Dunahay) Ball. She married Joe Bowers, who preceded her in death on March 11, 2021.

Evelyn worked at Memorial Park Cemetery. 

She is survived by her children: Melissa (Mike) Lane, Ben (Amy) Swaney, Susan Hardesty, and Anthony Hardesty Sr. She leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors also include her siblings: Jerrie Custer, Jackie Howard, Denise Moening, Bettie Foust, Patty Wells, and Cindy Woodward; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children: Angie Swaney, Tangie Swaney, Keith Hardesty; and brothers: Alex Ball, Mike Ball, David Ball and Rick Ball.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. Pastor Scott Steed will officiate. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family towards funeral expenses.
