Evelyn Wallace Bretts

Evelyn Ruth Wallace-Bretts, 95, died at 4 p.m. October 4, 2010, at VanCrest Healthcare Center, Delphos, Ohio. She was born June 19, 1915, in Lima, Ohio to Homer and Hazel Severns Shaw, who preceded her in death. On June 9, 1937, in Indiana, she married James E. Wallace, who died November 18, 1956. On February 18, 1959, in Kentucky, she married Andrew Bretts, who died May 16, 1963. Mrs. Wallace-Bretts was a member of Southside Christian Church. She and her husband?s had owned the Sportsman Grill. She was a member of the Jolly Nine Card Club. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Survivors include four daughters, Charlene (Dan) White, of Westerville, Ohio, Lenora (Marvin) Shrewsbury, of Wailuku, Hawaii, Judy (Mike) Brennan, of Lima, Ohio, and Dianna (Fred) Early, of Van Wert, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, Juliann Liming, Sarah Deisler, Wesley Folkerth, Beth Rowan, Geof Folkerth, Sean Brennan, Colleen Pulliam, Shannon Brennan, Erin Brennan, Michelle Sheets, Shane Early, Frank Early and Joan Folvi; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Allen Bretts; and a brother, Ralph Shaw. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Wanda Werking will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
