Evelyn Runyan

Evelyn E. Runyan, 81, died at 10:20 p.m. July 26, 2009, at Baton Rouge Senior Health Services Community. She was born July 8, 1928, in Columbus, Ohio to Ralph and Margaret K. Kutschbach Duey, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Runyan was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She contributed more than 2000 lap robes and afghans to Heartbeat of Lima and area nursing homes in Lima, Ohio. Survivors include three children, Donna Jean Hammond, William Joseph (Karen) Runyan and Rhonda Sue (Joseph) Weiss; seven grandchildren, Shawn Hammond, Ryan Hammond, Lea Purk, Nicole Runyan, Malissa Hale, Alexandra Weiss and Joseph Weiss; and six great-grandchildren, Mason Hammond, Dominic Hammond, Adalee Purk, Jackson Purk, Logan Hale and Whitney Hale. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kent Wilson and Pastor Robert Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Van Wert.
