85 of Lima, Ohio died on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at 10:13 P.M.at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Born Saturday, May 21, 1927 in Dupont, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Lorin Bird and the late Ethel Gattshall Bird.
She married Bruce Sims on April 27, 1946. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2007. She was the former co-owner/operator of Lima Instrument Repair for 35 years with her husband, worked 32 years at Gregg's Department Store in sales and the office, 18 years at Crawford Shoes in sales and the office and 8 years at Andersons as a greeter (it seemed there was no one in Lima she didn't know).
She was devoted to and loved by her family & friends. She loved meeting people, collecting buttons, cooking, baking, boating and camping.
Surviving are daughter, Anita (Gregory) Skinner of Lima, OH; three grandchildren, Lisa (Jason) Rader of Marysville), Ohio; Andrea (Scott) LeBlond of Davenport, Florida; Timothy (Mikalene Guiser) Skinner of Columbus, Ohio; four great grandchildren, Cameron Rader, Austin Rader, Daniel Rader, and Gabriel LeBlond; sister-in-law Ellen Bird; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by three brothers and sister-in-law, Charles (Norma) Bird, Clyde Bird and Carl Bird.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 10, 2012, concluding with a brief memorial remembrance at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home located at 920 N. Cable Rd. Lima, Ohio 45805.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, OH at a future date.
