Everett D. Sodders 89, died at 2:42 p.m. July 6, 2007, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born December 2, 1917, in Lima, Ohio to Darrell and Fay Culp Sodders, who preceded him in death. On June 20, 1943, he married Thelma M. Hooks, who died April 24, 1994. Mr. Sodders retired from Ford Motor Co. as a machine repairman. He was a 50-year member of High Street United Methodist Church and sang with the Leaning Tower Singers. He loved woodworking. Survivors include a son, Steve D. (Vicki) Sodders, of Elida, Ohio; a daughter, Carol (Mike) Lavin, of Napolean, Ohio; five grandchildren, Heidi (Jesse) Thacker, Tracy (Brian) Kreinbrink, Kelly (Chris) Bimer, Scott (Terri) Lavin, and Joe Lavin; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted (Jan) Sodders, of Elida, Ohio; a sister, Eileen Sherrick, of Elida, Ohio; and a special friend, Sue Shaw, of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dale Sherrick. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. William Cronk will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
