Florence Brode

FLORENCE E. BRODE, 83, died at 9:35 p.m. May 30, 2006, at Otterbein-Cridersville. She was born June 9, 1922, in Ravenna to Timothy and Mary Shutler Ryan, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 11, 1942, she married John Herbert Brode, who died April 29, 1975. Mrs. Brode was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She had been a member of St. Rita's Medical Center Auxiliary, where she enjoyed her volunteer work. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was always willing to lend a helping hand, was a lover of life and who was loved by all. Survivors include a daughter, Joanne Pasion of Lima; two sons, Jack Brode of Long Beach, Calif., and Dan (Nancy) Brode of North Lima; a sister, Hazel Yuhas of Knoxville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren, Michael (Tina) Pasion, David (fianc?e Melinda) Pasion, Dr. Patrick (Nicole) Pasion, Joseph (Amanda) Pasion, Rebecca (Nate) Sears, Amber Brode, Timothy Brode, Tawnya Brode, Justin (Sara) Brode, Jake Brode and Betsy (fianc? Chris) Brode; and eight great-grandchildren, Randy Pasion, Christopher Pasion, Lauren Pasion, Isabella Pasion, Colin Pasion, Nicholas Pasion, Nikos Brode and Madeline Sears. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Maurice and Agnes Ryan, Sister Mary Timothy, Ruth Wade and infant Paul Ryan; and a son-in-law, Dr. Nick Pasion. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Cardone will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ravenna.
