Florence Lucille Burkholder

91, died at 6:40 PM on Friday, June 11, 2021.

Florence was born on February 28, 1930, in Kenton, Ohio, to the late Guy Ward and Allie Mae (Clark) Ward.  On August 4, 1949, she married Robert E. Burkholder, he preceded her in death. She was his sweetheart. He came down from heaven for her on that Friday. He had come for her once before from Germany while he was in the military to ask for her hand. She said yes, they were married in Greenup, KY. They lived and traveled throughout Europe.

She was blessed with, three daughters, Diane (Kenny) Armentrout, Barbara A. Hayson, and Carol (Scott) Staley, all of Lima, OH; four grandchildren, Robert (Amy) Armentrout, Michael (Becky) Armentrout, Timothy (Cammie) Armentrout, and Erin Staley; seven great grandchildren, Amanda Rowe, Kelly Armentrout, Ian Armentrout, Claire Armentrout, McKenzie Armentrout, Parker Armentrout, and Oliver Armentrout.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Orville (Pauline)Ward, Basil (Marie) Ward and Jerry (Carolyn) Ward; five sisters, Thelma (Wallace) Montgomery, Helen (Robert) Woodward, and Phyllis (John) Edelbrock. Letticia Mae Ward, and Darlene Joy Ward.

We are grateful and thankful to all the staff at Burton’s Ridge, Shawnee Manor and  Interim Hospice Health Care.
