FLORIAN KABARA, 82, died at 3 a.m. May 16, 2007, at his residence. He was born March 10, 1925, in Royalton, Illinois, to Joseph and Lottie Pszanka Kabara, who preceded him in death. On June 3, 1946, he married Mayme Spiller, who died August 28, 2000. Mr. Kabara retired as a welder and supervisor from Clark Equipment Co. and as a welding instructor from Apollo Joint Vocational Career Center. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6741, Elida, Ohio, American Legion Post 96, Lima, Ohio, and the Korean Association. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, where he was involved in the D-Day invasion, and of the Korean War. Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Mary Ann) Kabara, of Aurora, Illinois, and Rick (Joan) Kabara, of Waynesfield, Ohio; a brother, Herman (Dorothy) Kabara, of Joliet, Illinois; a sister, Irene (Carl) Baggett, of Royalton, Illinois; five grandchildren, Heather (Matt) Edwards, Ryan Kabara, Cory Kabara, Dustin Kabara and Amie Kabara; and a great-granddaughter, Cali Marie Edwards. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Kabara; and a brother, Edmund Kabara. Services will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. James Clay will officiate.
