FLOYD NAPIER Jr., 73, died at 9:40 p.m. August 2, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born March 13, 1931, in Garrett, Kentucky, to Floyd and Mary K. Prater Napier, who preceded him in death. On April 3, 1987, in Decatur, Indiana, he married Barbara Thomas, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Napier retired in 2000 from Lima Correctional Institution. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, Lima, and American Legion Post 210, Celina, Ohio. He loved motorcycling, boating, four wheeling and NASCAR. He was an Army veteran. Survivors also include two sons, Stephen Napier and Greg Napier, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Melissa Haller and Shannon Wheeler, both of Lima, Ohio; a stepson, Tige (Andrea) Ladden of Lima, Ohio; and 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, a half sister and six half brothers. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Wayne Prater will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
