Frances Azzarello, 94, of Lima, Ohio died at 12:59 A.M., Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the Lima Convalescent Home.
Born Sunday, October 13, 1918 in Chicago Heights, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late John Porto and the late Angelina Zagone Porto. She married Nicholas Azzarello on September 22, 1940 and he preceded her in death..
She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Red Hatters. Her life revolved around her family, her children, grandchildren and great grandchiildren. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Lima Convalescent Home for their kindness and care to their mother.
Surviving are: two sons, John (Pat) Azzarello of Elida, OH and Anthony (Marti) Azzarello of Lima; seven grandchildren, Jack (Beth) Azzarello of Lima, Christine (Eddie) Hullinger of Lima, Michelle Mooney of Elida, Frances (Tom) Martin of Lima, Melissa (Todd) Hullinger of Marysville, OH, Nick (Kari) Azzarello of Holland, OH, and Tony (Amy) Azzarello of Lima. Also surviving are seventeen great-grandchildren; Chelsea Mooney, Brittany Mooney, Mitchell Mooney, Emily Hullinger, Allison Hullinger, Megan Azzarello Nichole Azzarello, Dominic Azzarello, Nicholas Azzarello, Thomas Martin, Andrew Martin, Jakob Hullinger, Sophie Hullinger, Joe Azzarello, Matthew Azzarello, Roman Azzarello and Lily Azzarello. She is also survived by a sister Cecile Melei of Chicago Heights, IL. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: two brothers; Leo Porto, and Phillip Porto, and two sisters; Nina Geraci and Josephine Guagenti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 15, 2013 at St. Charles Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Stephen Blum officiating.
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 P.M.
