FRANCES C. GOSSARD, 90, died at 9:15 p.m. December 16, 2005, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home. She was born March 6, 1915, in Lima, Ohio to Burl H. and Crystal McGinnis Hyde, who preceded her in death. In January 1937, she married Kenneth Gail Gossard, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Gossard was a member of First Baptist Church and its Homemakers Class and Martha Circle. She has also been a member of Blue Star Mothers of America Chapter 15, Able-Disabled Club, Helping Hands Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, and AARP. She worked at the Serviceman's Canteen from 1953 until it closed in 1970. She had been a cashier at Pangles Master Market on Latham Avenue. Survivors include two sons, Donald L (Lima) Gossard of Lima, Ohio and Robert A. (Molly) Gossard of Waco, Texas; two half brothers, Harry (Lynette) Hyde of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Jerry (Tonya) Hyde of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, Misty Jack of Lima, Ohio, Jeff Kirk, Donald Lee Gossard II and James Allen Gossard; and six great-grandchildren, Chris, Alexis, Adam, Cambron, Caleb and Cienna. She was preceded in death by a son, Phillip G. Gossard; three brothers, Roger Hyde, Richard Hyde and Thomas Hyde; and two sisters, Doris Hyde and Lillian Hyde. Service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery, Lima, Ohio. Friends may call from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where a Blue Star Mothers service will begin at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
