Frances LOVELL

FRANCES RUSSELL LOVELL, 93, died at 4:50 p.m. December 29, 2007, at Otterbein-Cridersville Retirement Community near Cridersville, Ohio. She was born November 16, 1914, in Wallonia, Kentucky, to Jesse Sterling and Ellen Gertrude P?Poole Russell, who have preceded him in death. She had been married to Lloyd Lovell. Mrs. Lovell was a school teacher, having taught home economics in Trigg and Muhlenburg counties in Kentucky and fifth- and sixth-grade health and science in Greenville, Kentucky. She was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She had been involved with the Girl Scouts for more than 52 years, serving as a field adviser for several Girl Scout councils, a field executive for the Appleseed Ridge Girl Scout Council, Lima, Ohio, for five years and as a field executive for the Kentuckian Girl Scout Council, Louisville, Kentucky, for 15 years. She was active in the Otterbein Retirement Community, Cridersville, Ohio. She loved gardening and was an active and independent person. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Dickerson, of Lima, Ohio; two grand-children, Bruce (Christy) Dickerson, of Hamilton, Ohio, and Dixie (James) Finch, of Denver, Colorado; and three great-grandchildren, Madeliene Finch, Jude Finch and Abigail Dickerson. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bruce Dickerson; and two sisters, Gertrude Ray and Mary Evelyn Cole. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Shawnee United Methodist Church. The Revs. Charlotte Hefner and Brian Bucher will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Shawnee Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
