Fred Hazen Corbett,
85, of Lima, Ohio died on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at 3:38, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Born Wednesday, August 10, 1927 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Glenn Corbett and the late Ardena (Stull) Corbett.
He married Lucy Anita (Dee) Corbett on Saturday, September 4, 1948. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2007. He retired from the Lima Correctional Facility. He was a graduate of Hickory High School of Hermitage, PA and attended the University of Maryland, studying Agriculture. He served in the United States Coast Guard and was a member of the Central Christian Church. He had earned his Eagle Scout Award and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.
Surviving are: two sons, Glenn Ward (Deb) Corbett of Pensacola, FL and Timothy Forrest (Barb) Corbett of Maiden, NC; four daughters, Marybeth Corbett of Lima, OH., Patricia Anne (Tim) Corbett - Aaron of Cumberland, MD., Pamela Suzanne (Shane Walton) Stockler of Wapakoneta, OH., and Penny (Jeff) Crider of Maiden, NC; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Wilmoth, Jessica Sargent, Tara Stancil, Robert Crider, Amy Hunter, Sarah Stockler, Joseph Bass, Jennifer Bass and ten great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by an infant brother.
Friends may call on Friday, August 24, 2012 from 2:00 p. m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Central Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Tisch officiating.
Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum with military graveside honors conducted by VFW Post 1275.
