Fredrick Britsch, 85, died at 3:52 p.m. Aug. 24, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born Nov. 22, 1924, in Cloverdale to Earl F. and Lina Hamilton Britsch, who preceded him in death. Mr. Britsch had been a maintenance technician for BP Chemical and a driver for Buckeye Charter. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church Choir for seven years. He was a member of Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, Fraternal Order of Eagles 370, the Springbrook Gardens Dance Club and American Legion Post 96. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from Sept. 21, 1943, to Feb. 11, 1946. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon R. Stein, of Lima, and Beverly K. Britsch, of Terrell, N.C.; a brother, Virgil (Jean) Britsch, of Cloverdale; three grandchildren, Brett (Patty) Stein, of Elida, Dawn (John) Holbrook, of Lima, and Rhonda (Matt) French, of Elida; five great-grandchildren, Samantha, Ashley, Connor, Carson and Sawyer; his special friend, Patricia Rable, of Lima; and a sister-in-law, Alice Britsch, of Kalida. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and Clayton Britsch; and five sisters, Florence Decker, Erma Selhorst, Delores Kline, Mildred O?Connell and Lila Fleming. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Ruth Solo will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
