Fusako Y. (Rose) Kirk

Fusako Y. (Rose) Kirk,  age 90 of Elida passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Shawnee Manor surrounded by her family.

She was born April 21, 1932 in Manchuria China to Japanese parents Yoshiro and Shio (Moreta) Yoshitomi. Both parents preceded her in death. On March 19, 1957 she married Robert H. Kirk, who preceded her in death on February 21, 2008.

She is survived by her son, James R. (Lisa) Kirk, and her two grandsons, James J. (Morgan) Kirk and Justin R. (Brooke) Kirk. She is also survived by her six great-grandsons, Austin, Brady, Skyler, Preston, Carson, and Gavin who she absolutely adored!

She was preceded in death by a sister Sashiko Doi and brothers, Yoshiuke, Hirouki, and Takasey Yoshitomi. She is survived by a brother Hiroharu Yoshitomi and many nieces and nephews.

Fusako attended Immanuel United Methodist Church in Elida where she enjoyed so many activities with the Women’s Group. Her faith and family always came first!

Fusako was a professional seamstress by trade, and loved to crochet. She loved cooking Japanese meals for her family, especially the New Year’s tradition of “Sukiyaki” always followed by “Mochi” making where every family member had to make one by stuffing sweet bean paste in the mochi and molding to the correct shape.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Elida.  Rev. Randy Coleman will officiate.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida.
