GALE M. BEERY, 52, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, died Saturday, June 29, 2013. He was the son of David E. and Vonda M. (Burkholder) Beery (both deceased) of Lima, Ohio. Gale was born in Lima at St. Rita's Hospital in January, 1961. Gale passed away after an extended illness at Parkview North Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Gale was a professional business writer, but was best known for his amazing musical talents as a jazz musician, being both a trombonist and pianist. Gale's musical background started with his parents and flourished under the tutelage of Mr. Harry Folk (deceased) and Mr. Dale Laukhuf for his trombone training at Bath High School. His piano training came from Mrs. Carolyn Hurless (deceased) and then was later taken under the wing of her husband, Mr. Don Hurless. Gale spent 3 years at Bowling Green State University as a music-major and helped in the development of a fledgling jazz minor program at BGSU. Gale played with several jazz groups in his career and worked creating radio/TV music soundtrack.
Gale shared a loving partnership with fiancée Ms. Janell Zuber, also of Ft. Wayne. Gale has one brother, Thomas D. Beery (Michelle) of Miamisburg, OH. He has a niece,
Dr. Lauren Beery-Busche (Eric) of Lebanon, OH. He also has a sister in Lima, OH.
A service will be held in Lima to celebrate his life on Saturday, July 20th, with visitation from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, and a memorial service to follow.
