Garnet M. Ridenour, 82, passed away at 3:48 p.m. on December 31, 2020, at his home in Cairo, OH.
Garnet was born on July 17, 1938, in Cairo, OH, to the late Charles and Leota (Tippie) Ridenour. On May 16, 1959 he married Carol (Bogart) Ridenour who survives in Cairo.
Garnet served in the Navy and was a retired electrical lineman. He was a member of Palm View United Methodist Church in Palmetto, FL. Garnet loved being a “snow bird” and going to Florida in the winter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Neil Ridenour of Lima; son, Vincent “Dee” (Sheri) Ridenour of Corona, CA; grandchildren, Tim (Laura) Ridenour and Mallory Haley; two step-great-grandchildren; eight nieces and five nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Charles Ridenour, Jackie Ridenour and Richard Ridenour; sister, Helen Lamb; three brother-in-laws and two sister-in-laws.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dave & Deb Lamb, Deanna & Mike Ricker, Pam & Steve Robey, Jennifer Parent, Troy Catterine, Lima Memorial Health Park Hematology & Oncology, Dr. Qin, and Lima Memorial Health PCU & Infusion Center for their love, help, and support.
There will be no public visitation or services at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Blood Drive Unit or South Eastern Guide Dogs.
