Gary L. Haller, 64, of Lima, passed away on May 12, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 21, 1953 to Robert and Grace Irene {Boyer} Haller. His father preceded him in death.
On October 16, 1976, he married Peg Kunzen, who survives in Lima. He is also survived by his children Jamie (Omar Smith) Haller, Benjamin (Lindsay) Haller, Lindsey (Blayne George) Haller, and Kelly (Kyle) Damschroder, grandchildren Reilley and Mylin Haller, Grady Damschroder, Christian George, and a granddaughter due in July, siblings Dorothy (Gary), Steve (Marilyn), Nancy (Bill), Chris (Joe), and Janice.
Gary was a Bath High School graduate of 1971. After high school, he graduated from Ohio Institute of Technology in 1976 as an electrical engineer. He was a certified quality engineer for General Dynamics, and most recently at Dana Incorporated in Lima. He loved cars, gardening, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and reminiscing with family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed Rock and Roll music, vacationing, and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes. Gary would attend church with his family and was also a Ford Motor enthusiast. Gary believed "you beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live."- Stuart Scott.
His family will receive friends on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4-8PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A memorial service will begin on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11AM at the funeral home.
