Gary D. ?Sharpie? Sharp, 51, died at 4:07 a.m. Sept. 9, 2010, at West Chester Hospital, West Chester. He was born July 1, 1959, in Lima to William and Joan Spellman Sharp, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 17, 1995, he married Virginia ?Ginny? Workman, who survives in Lima. Mr. Sharp was raised and attended Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Lima Senior High School and attended The Ohio State University. He was an avid sports fan who loved the Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed playing golf. He recently worked for Graybar Electric, and early in his career was a caseworker who had the best interest for the foster children in his care. He had the ability to be optimistic under any circumstance, and he loved life. To know him was to love him, as his kind, uplifting spirit profoundly touched all who knew him. Survivors also include a daughter, Rachel Sharp, of Biloxi, Miss.; two brothers, Bill (Guyneth) Sharp, of Wilmette, Ill., and Steven A. Sharp, of Tulsa, Okla.; and a grandson, Dylan Rundberg. He was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Sharp. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. David Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
