Gary Waddle

Gary Waddle, 77, passed away at 10:43 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at his home in Lima. 

Gary was born on January 26, 1947, in Lima, Ohio to Frank Waddle and Ramona Corso.  On September 3, 1966, he married Sue Ann (Shook) Waddle, who preceded him in death on September 4, 2021

Gary was a 1965 graduate of Lima Senior High School and was on the baseball team that won the 1965 State Championship.  He was an avid bowler and member of the bowling league.  Gary was always a huge sports fan and enjoyed going to Arizona for baseball Spring training every year.  He was a faithful fan of the Cleveland Guardians and also was an Ohio State football fan.  Gary was a proud grandfather and went to as many of his grandchildren’s activities as possible.

He was the proud owner of a 1994 Ford Mustang that had less than 5000 miles on it.

He is survived by his son, Doug Waddle; daughter-in-law, Nicole Waddle; grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Ty) Browning, Abby Waddle, Chloe Waddle, Mia Waddle, and Lexi Waddle; great-grandchildren: Lily, Gunnar, and Bo Browning; brothers, Kenny Waddle and Steven Waddle; brother-in-law, Fred Shafer; sisters-in-law, Shirlee Graham and Debby Boop.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sisters, Kathy (Dick) Engle and Connie Shafer; and brothers-in-law, Doug Graham and Roy Boop.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m.  Pastor Kelly Waltz will officiate.  Burial of ashes will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice.
