Gary WERFF

GARY L. WERFF, 53, died at 3:55 p.m. March 10, 2006, at Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born Feb. 7, 1953, in Lima to Robert John and Alberta L. Cotner Werff, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 15, 1980, in Lima, he married Debra M. Finn, who survives in Elida. Mr. Werff was a staff pharmacist at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 2661, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, the Lima Central Catholic High School Athletic Boosters and the LCC Capital Campaign Committee. He was a 1971 graduate of Lima Senior High School and a 1978 graduate of The Ohio State University. He was an avid OSU fan and a devoted family man. Survivors also include a daughter, Kristen R. Werff of Elida; two nephews, Daniel Blosser and Michael Blosser; two nieces, Stephanie Martz and Stacey Martz; his father- and mother-in-law, John D. "Dan" and Juanita Finn of Lima; two brothers-in-law, David C. (Rhonda S.) Martz and Gary K. (Lisa K.) Blosser, both of Lima; and several cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Father George Blasick will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard Catholic Church, 240 W.
