GEORGE ADAM COCKERELL, 44, died at 3:59 p.m. April 17, 2007, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born December 5, 1962, in Lima, Ohio to George A. and Leona Miller Cockerell. His father preceded him in death. His mother survives in Spencerville, Ohio. On August 14, 1982, he married Janis Ricker, who survives in Spencerville, Ohio. Mr. Cockerell was starting a landscaping business and had worked in inside sales at Palmer-Donavan. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772, and its clown unit, and American Legion Post 191, both in Spencerville, Ohio. He was a mechanic for Kelly Bowlby's 36 at Limaland Motorsports Park. He coached midget football for nine years in Spencerville. He was an Air Force veteran, serving 11 years. He enjoyed Sunday night poker games, was an avid sports fan and loved to bowl. Survivors also include two sons, Matthew A. Cockerell, of Spencerville, Ohio, and Senior Airman Joseph M. (Kimberly) Cockerell, of Robbins Air Force Base, Georgia; a daughter, Ashley Cockerell, of Spencerville, Ohio; his father- and mother-in-law, Sigmund Ricker and Carol Ricker, both of Delphos, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Sandy (Randy) Marshall, of Spencerville, Ohio, and Dee (Tim Teeman) Talerico, of Venedocia, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Nick Ricker, of Delphos, Ohio; three nephews, Kenny, Nate and Shawn; a niece, Cami; and a great-niece, Nadia. Services will begin at 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, with military rites by VFW Post 6772. Father John Fleck will officiate.
