GEORGE A. PAGE, 78, died at 1:55 a.m. January 29, 2007, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born June 2, 1928, in Lima, Ohio to George and Mary Jacobs Page, who preceded him in death. On June 25, 1949, at St. Mary Church, Bluffton, Ohio, he married Joann Gerdemann, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Page retired as director of activities from the Oakwood Correctional Facility after 34 years. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. He had volunteered nearly 7,000 hours at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 54 and the Oaks Golf Course. He was a graduate of Beaverdam High School. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, going to garage sales and working in his yard. He also enjoyed watching sporting events, especially The Ohio State University Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Lima Central Catholic High School Thunderbirds. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was a friend to everyone he met. Survivors also include a daughter, Barb (Terry) Bear, of St. Petersburg, Florida; three sons, Mark (Kathy) Page, Joe (Kim) Page and David (Lori) Page, all of Lima, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, Jessica (Brian) Hart, John (Tracy) Bear, David (Katie) Bear, Marcie (Nate) Cooper, Michael (Chris) Page, Ben (Kippi) Page, Brian (fianc?e, Tara Ruen) Page, Brent Page, Shannon (Jason) Bowers, Matthew Page, Kevin Page, Nicki Hilleary and Joe Hilleary; nine great-grandchildren, Brianna Bear, Olivia Bear, Keaton Cooper, Kelly Cooper, Jordan Page, Morgan Page, Paige Bowers, Lorrin Bowers and Addie Bowers; two step great-grandchildren, Grayson Flores and Kennedy Flores; four sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Kruskamp, Ruth Zuercher, Evelyn Lawrence and Terry Page; and a brother-in-law, Richard O. Norton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Page Hilleary; an infant son, Michael; two brothers, Warren Page and Robert D. Page; a sister, Rosemary Pavlo; two sisters-in-law, Sister Ann Lucille Gerdemann and Doris Norton; and four brothers-in-law, Paul Kruskamp, Jerome Zuercher, Leroy Lawrence and Leo Pavlo. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Rev. David Ritchie will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
