George J. "Beaver" Sciranka, III, 58 of Lima, Ohio died at 1:10 P.M. Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Lima Manor Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.
Born Sunday, August 1, 1954 in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late George Sciranka, Jr. and Carol J. Sciranka, his mother who survives in Lima.
Mr. Sciranka was the owner of The Rose Shoppe. He also worked as Quality Manager at Superior Forge and Steel and as Quality Supervisor at Excello/Airfoil Textron. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus and at one time he was the youngest Grand Knight in Ohio history.
Surviving are two sons, Matt Sciranka and Marc Sciranka both of Lima, also surviving are three brothers; Stan (Kim) Sciranka, Steve (Mary) Sciranka and Rick (Belinda) Sciranka all of Lima, a brother-in-law Mike Ulm, two grandchildren; Cameron and Conner Sciranka six nieces and nephews; Sarah, Marissa. Spencer, Anna, Patrick and Allison and one great-nephew Anthony.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Suanne Ulm and nephew Jared Sciranka
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at St. Rose Catholic Church with the Father David M. Ross officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.
