GERALD E. "GARY" COTRELL, 64, died at 10:26 p.m. February 14, 2005, at his residence. He was born March 24, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio to Gilbert and Myrtle Irene Evilsizer Cotrell, who preceded in him death. On December 3, 1958, in Royalton, Kentucky, he married Onethia Wireman, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Cotrell retired from and was a member of Labor Local 329, where he worked for Jacobs Construction Co. and Clark Equipment Co., among others. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed going to church and watching football, especially his favorite team the Ohio State Buckeyes. Survivors also include a son, Ashland Eugene (Angela) Cotrell of Lima, Ohio; three brothers, Ernie (Bonnie) Cotrell and Richard (Theresa) Cotrell, both of Lima, Ohio, and Bobby (Janey) Cotrell of Elida, Ohio; a sister, Lovetta (Fred) Dove of Lima, Ohio; four grandchildren, Suzannah Hunnibell of Varina, N.Carolina, Melissa (Michael) Rorick of Warwick, R.I., and Ashland Cotrell and Annalissa Cotrell, both of Lima, Ohio; and a great-grandson, Samuel Polivka of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Gilbert Cotrell, Archie Cotrell, Larry Cotrell and Willard Cotrell; and five sisters, Brenda Bolander, Madge Zimmerman, May Dove, Clara Wright and Barbara Jean Cotrell. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Les Wiremen will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
