Gerald Edwin White,

95, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Cridersville Healthcare Center in Cridersville, Ohio.

Gerald was born on January 19, 1922, in Lima to the late Leroy "Roy" and Helen  (Green) White.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Edna Phyllis (IIams) White who passed away February 3, 2015.

He is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Thomas) Sweigart, of Wapakoneta, OH, and  Susan (Jon) Young, of Lima, OH, and one  son, Gary White, of Lima, OH; four grandchildren, Yvonne (Chris) Sorensen, Sarah Hartford, Jonna Young, and Jacqueline (Kelly) Straub; six great grandchildren, Harrison and Stephanie Sorensen, Kelsey, Alyssa, and Emily Skinner, Kellyn Straub.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert White, and Virgil White.

Gerald was a World War II veteran who served his country honorably in the United States Army from October 1942 to December 1945.

He retired from Neon Products after 35 years.

The family is very grateful for the wonderful care he received at Cridersville Healthcare and State of the Heart Care-Hospice Coldwater, OH. They both provided and took excellent care of him.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio

Services will begin at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH.  Rev. Dr. Timothy White will officiate.

Interment will be in St. Mathew Cemetery, Cridersville, Ohio. Graveside Military Service will be conducted by VFW Post 1275.
