Geraldine Strayer

GERALDINE STRAYER, 90, died at 2:20 p.m. October 1, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Delphos, Ohio. She was born November 29, 1914, in Lima, Ohio, to James Elmer and Edna Arvada (Swisher) Detrick. In February 1933, she married LaVerne F. "Dutch" Strayer, who died March 4, 2002. Mrs. Strayer was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Gerald (Wanda) Strayer and Ray (Nancy) Strayer, both of Lima, Ohio; four grandchildren, Keith Strayer, Ann Noone, Julie Scott and Janice Tanguay; and seven great-grandchildren, Joseph Noone, Logan Ralston, Megan Scott, Aaron Strayer, Tara Mustain, Amanda Tanguay and Katelyn Tanguay. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Gail Detrick, Russ Detrick, Carl Detrick and Arthur Detrick; and four sisters, Cleo Church, Hazel Phillips, Edith States and Faye Davis. A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. Pastor John M. Tsironis will officiate. Graveside service and burial of ashes will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio. Friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
