Gertrude C. Sherrick

age 88, of Lima, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 7:45 AM at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home. She was born on December 10, 1929 in Verbas, Yugoslavia to the late Martin and Theresia Exle. On September 26, 1953 she married Jack Donald Sherrick, who preceded her in death on December 28, 2003.

Gertrude was a homemaker and formerly worked for St. Rita’s Hospital, Dr. W. Markley, and Lima Public Schools. She was a volunteer at the YWCA Corner Cupboard for over 20 years. She loved reading, gardening, animals, sewing, and knitting.

She is survived by her son Arthur L. Sherrick , daughter Barbara J. Sherrick (Russell McKnight), and grandchildren Emelia C. McKnight, Nathaniel C. McKnight, and Cora A. McKnight.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her brother Martin Exle, sisters Theresia Oeri and Maria Simon, all of Germany.
