Gertrude Truesdale

GERTRUDE M. TRUESDALE, 87, died at 4 p.m. May 31, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born Aug. 19, 1917, in Lima to Walter and Rosa Billings Sevitz, who preceded her in death. On May 16, 1936, in Cridersville, she married Bernard Truesdale, who died June 11, 1968. Mrs. Truesdale had been a dishwasher at the Huddle Restaurant. She was a member of Westview United Methodist Church. She was a member of the American Legion Gold Star Mothers. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Ronald) Reese of Cridersville and Patricia (Dennis) Ebbeskotte of Delphos; two sisters, Reva Myers of Lima and Betty Simpson of Kenton; and six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two sons, Larry L. and Roger E. Truesdale; two brothers, Robert and Harry Sevitz; and two sisters, Edna Thompson and Eva Jane Coon. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry K. Wiles will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
