Gladys "Eileen" Sarakaitis,
94, of Lima, Ohio died on Friday, July 13, 2012, at 4:30 a.m. at Burton's Ridge Assisted Living in Lima, Ohio.
Born March 12, 1918 in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Edmond Foster and the late Goldie (Franks) Foster.
She married Joe Sarakaitis on September 4, 1937, in Lima, Ohio. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1991. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She attended South High School, Lima. She was a Red Cross Volunteer, and a member of the Shawnee Grange and past secretary.
Surviving are: two sons, Joe (Marsha) Sarakaitis of Shaker Heights, OH and Ray (Kay) Sarakaitis of San Francisco, CA; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by one sister, Bonnie Riggle and three brothers, Eddie , Bill, and Ray Foster.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Stephen Blum officiating.
Interment of the ashes will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to St. Rita's Hospice, 959 W. North St., Lima, OH 45805.
