Glen “Dale” Vermillion, 74, passed away at 12:35 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at his home in Lima surrounded by family.
Glen Vermillion was born on October 19, 1948, in Lima, Ohio, to Ira Glendole and Mary Jane (Parker) Vermillion. On August 23, 2013, he married Renee (Ulrey) Vermillion, who survives in Lima.
Glen was retired after many years of doing auto-body work. He enjoyed working on hotrod engines, fishing, hunting, and was a gun enthusiast. He loved his animals: George, Sox, Tiny, and Skip.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepchildren: Brice Anderson, Taylor Anderson, John (Kerri) Bronson, and Mike (Mandi) Bronson; step-grandchildren, Mikey & Michelle Bronson, and Chloe Bronson; sisters, Linda (Barry) Creps and Tammie Solomon, both of Lima; nieces, Jackie (Michael) Lawrence and Kelly (Mike) Adlesh; nephews: John (Amy) Solomon, Aaron (Jenny) Strange, Barry Creps Jr., David (Michelle) Creps; and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Tommy Ray Anderson Jr, and former wife, Roma Bronson.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. and 5 – 7 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the funeral home. John Wayne Solomon III will officiate. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
