Glenwood Stemen

GLENWOOD AUSTIN ?BILL? STEMEN, 89, died at 7 p.m. December 14, 2004, at Lima Convalescent Home. He was born November 20, 1915, in Elida to Glenwood and Almenda Mowery Stemen, who preceded him in death. On June 1, 1936, he married Juanita Reed, who died on September 14, 2004. Mr. Stemen worked for the receiving department at Westinghouse for 40 years. Survivors include two grandsons, Gregory Stemen of Lima, Ohio and Bradley (Connie) Stemen of Lima, Ohio; a granddaughter, Stephanie George of Lima, Ohio; great-grandchildren Justin Williams of Lima, Ohio Megan Williams of Lima, Ohio, Ashley Stemen of Lima, Ohio, Brandon Stemen and Alexis George; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Stemen, who died in 1989; four brothers, Ivor Stemen, Duane L. Stemen, Kermit Stemen and Donald Stemen; and two sisters, Elois Copeland and Lenore T. Strayer. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Douglas E. Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Mennonite Cemetery, Elida.
