Grace Colene Heaston , 91, died at 10:30 a.m. June 4, 2009, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was born July 1, 1917, in Lima, Ohio, to Earl F. and Lela M. Harsh Curtis Sr., who preceded her in death. On January 24, 1937, in Lima, Ohio, she married Richard A. Heaston, who died August 2, 1997. Mrs. Heaston was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its Altar Guild and Ruth Prayer Circle. She was a member of the Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 40 years, with more than 5,000 hours of service. Until recently she was an avid bowler and line dancer. Survivors include a daughter, Dr. L. Kay Heaston, of Lima, Ohio; a son, Richard Alan (Jane) Heaston, of Englewood, Colorado; a sister, Helen Maxwell, of Lima, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Carole Hollar, of Lima, Ohio, Susan Meyer, of Chesapeake, Virginia, Dr. Malinda Brunhuber, of Rochester, New York, Ryan Heaston, of Atlanta, Taylor Ann Heaston, of Englewood, Colorado, Parker Heaston, of Durango, Colorado, and Olivia G. Heaston, of Englewood, Colorado; and four great-grandchildren, Cameron Baker, Madison Hollar, Grace M. Hollar and Sadie Meyer. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Beatrice Curtis, Delma I. Kidd, Edna D. Hume and Betty Fess; and three brothers, Thurlow Curtis, Earl Curtis Jr. and Richard Curtis. Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kent Wilson and Intern Bill Leitch will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
