Grace Mcelderry

GRACE L. McELDERRY, 91, died at 4:40 p.m. May 13, 2007, at Springview Manor Nursing Home. She was born March 31, 1916, in Lima, Ohio to Charles and Anna Martin Dearth, who preceded her in death. On February 14, 1953, she married Harold N. McElderry, who died August 15, 2001. Mrs. McElderry had provided day care for infants, preschoolers and the elderly throughout her life. She was an avid crocheter and liked to knit. She was a lover of nature, especially birds. Survivors include a brother-in-law, Oro (Gloria) McElderry, of Elida, Ohio; three nephews and nieces, David (Helen) McElderry, of Lima, Ohio, Ellen (Leonard) Cole, of Harrod, Ohio, and Steven (Stephanie) McElderry, of Lima, Ohio; and four great-nephews and great-nieces, Michelle (Mike) Cass, Christopher Cole, Ashley McElderry and Joshua McElderry, all of Lima, Ohio. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Bayliff will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God at the Cross Roads.
