Gregory R. Coon, 56, died at 6:40 p.m. June 21, 2007, at his residence. He was born July 11, 1950, in Lima, Ohio to Robert L. and Eva Jane Sevitz Coon, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 29, 1973, he married Connie Moyer, who survives in Lima. Mr. Coon had worked at Honda of America for more than 17 years. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. He served in the Air Force from September 18, 1969, to September 17, 1973. He loved to fish, hunt and work on cars, and he was a huge Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Survivors also include three sons, Robert (Ariane) Coon, Kevin (Amanda) Coon and Eric Coon, all of Lima, Ohio; two daughters, Holly Coon Tomlinson, of Lima, Ohio, and Angie (Mike Mullen) Pothast, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a sister, Debra Howard, of Indian Lake, Ohio; and seven grandchildren, Ali Coon, Kamryn Tomlinson, Blake Tomlinson, Alana Coon, Anna Coon, Michael Pothast and Drew Pothast. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose Catholic Church. The Rev. William Rose will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery, with graveside military rites by VFW Post 1275.
