Gregory McKinley Morgan

Gregory McKinley Morgan, 64, passed away at 4:44 p.m. on March 26, 2022, at Otterbein Cridersville Assisted Living.  Gregory was born on May 30, 1957 in Lima, Ohio, to Vance and Betty (Gilbert) Morgan.

Gregory was a 1976 graduate of Lima Senior High and served in the 148th Infantry Army National Guard.  He was a retired corrections officer at Lima Correctional Institution. He was a retired policeman from Put-In-Bay.  He had also been an officer for American Township, Spencerville, Alger, and Harrod; as well as Chief of Police for both Waynesfield and Elida.  He attended Lima First Church.  Gregory was a member of the Lima Lodge #205, Chapter #49, Council #20, Commandery #14; Hiram’s Riders Chapter of The Widows Sons, Antioch Shrine Club and Lima Shrine Club.  He was a former member of Scottish Rite – Valley of Toledo.  He was a motorcycle and firearm enthusiast.  Gregory immensely loved spending time with his two grandsons and was so very proud of them.

He is survived by his daughter, Gwynne (Edwin) Sorenson of Lima; grandsons, Tucker and Tysen; and sister, Rhonda Morgan of Bluffton.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 p.m. and 4 – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service follows at 6 p.m. with military honors and Masonic Rites.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lima Lodge #205 Welfare Fund.
