Harold Grady

HAROLD W. "STUB" GRADY, 75, died at 1:15 a.m. July 31, 2005, at his residence. He was born April 1, 1930, in Allen County, Ohio to Floyd and Mabel Stoodt Grady, who preceded him in death. On March 30, 1956, he married Ruth Orchard, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Grady retired as a machine operator from Teledyne Ohio Steel, after 25 years, and had worked at Ex-Cell-O Corp., for 15 years. He was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church, where he had been an usher. He was a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. He had been a charter member of the Elida Optimist Club. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from March 1, 1951, to January 1, 1957. Survivors also include a son, Michael (Judith) Grady of Delphos, Ohio; three daughters, Deborah (Dave "Tiny" Sheppler) Hilty of Harrod, Ohio, Judy (Dennis) Buettner of Elida, Ohio and Jean A. (Theodore) Bible of Lima, Ohio; a sister, Loretta (Bob) Kohler of Lima, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Denise, Joseph, Justin, Logan, Jennifer, Doug, Dan, Diane and Megan; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Grady. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Park United Methodist Church. Pastor Derek Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
