Harold P. Long, 81, died at 3:45 p.m. May 14, 2008, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. He was born July 31, 1926, in Elida, Ohio to John A. and Dora Moubray Long, who preceded him in death. He had been married to Maxine Harner and Dorothy Gossard. In 1988, he married Bonnie Rodenberger, who died December 29, 2006. Mr. Long had been owner of Sugar Street Inn. He had also been a truck driver and worked at the Hampton Inn. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 199, where he had served in several offices and had received the Directors Award. Survivors include a son, Larry E. Long, of Napoleon, Ohio; four stepchildren; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Clara Long and Ruby Morris, both of Elida, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Long, Paul Long and George Long; and a sister, Grace Garber. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Alvin King will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
