Harry Vorhees

He married Mary Jean (Verhoff) on August 11, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She survives in Lima, Ohio. He was a life insurance agent for the Western Southern, and was co owner of the Eaton, Endly Peck Insurance Co. He was the Lima City auditor for 12 years. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church since 1957, a life member of the VFW Post 1275 and a long time member of the American Legion Post #96. He served in the United States Army as a Sargeant from July 31, 1944 to November 19, 1947 then he was called back to duty for the Korean War. He is survived by a son William J. (Cathy) Vorhees of Lima and a daughter Rebecca S. (Larry) Walther of Lima seven grandchildren Brett E. Vorhees, Brandy J. Musselman, Curtis M. Vorhees, Brian T. Vorhees, Robert W. Walther, Brittany J. Vorhees and Leah Marie McCleary also fifteen great-grandchilden, a brother Ted (Linda) Vorhees , two sisters Stella Goodwin , Susie (Don) Green all of Buckland, also a sister Ruthie Lester of Wapakoneta. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the time he spent with them. He also enjoyed his trips every year for the last 25 plus years to Myrtle Beach.

He was predeceased by son, Robert E. Vorhees, brother, Ferd "Mike" Vorhees, sister, Mildred Shoffstall.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Father Stephen Blum officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Wapakoneta, OH.
