Heather Lyn Sawmiller
40, died Monday, November 2, 2015, at 1:30 P.M. after a 2 year battle with breast cancer, which she valiantly fought.
She was born November 14, 1974 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Buddy Combs, and Lynda (Bennett) Combs who survives in Cincinnati.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jenna and Bree Sawmiller and Husband, Jack W. Sawmiller; sisters, Christi (Eric) Merkle and Cara (Steve) Kerchner; nephews, Karson and Cameron Kerchner, Matthew and Nathan Bailey and Nick Maynard; nieces, Leah Bailey and Shelly Maynard; sisters-in-law, Val (Mark) Bailey and Michelle Maynard.
She graduated from Fairfield High School, received her BS in Education from The Ohio State University, Columbus and a Masters in Education from Ohio State Lima. She taught 5th and 6th grades in the Lima City Schools.
Her love for her family was unspoken and she enjoyed involving her daughters in numerous activities of their choice: dance, soccer, gymnastics, piano, and volleyball. She loved teaching her students at South and North Middle Schools and took pride in developing creative and challenging lessons. She delighted in the many friendships she developed and she was a friend's friend.
The family will receive friends 2 to 4 P.M. Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will be held at 4 P.M. Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lima, Ohio. Rev. Dave Harris will officiate.
