Helen Davis

HELEN W. DAVIS, 83, died at 4:41 a.m. January 16, 2007, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born September 15, 1923, in Glen Robbins to Stephen and Anna Tczap Wychowanec, who preceded her in death. On May 19, 1950, she married Joseph T. Davis, who died in May 1967. Mrs. Davis retired in 1985 as a registered nurse from St. Rita's Medical Center, where she was a private duty nurse. She was a graduate of Martins Ferry Hospital School of Nursing. Since she had no children of her own, she became like a second mother to her nieces and nephews. She had many friends and was a kind and loving person to all. She moved to Lima in 1951. Survivors include a sister, Anna W. Roth, of St. Clairsville; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Davis, of Dover, and Peggy Clark, of Martins Ferry; 10 nieces and nephews, Jacqueline (James) Ehresman, of Lima, Ohio, Sandra (David) Niles, of Chapin, S.Carolina, Christine Black, of Lima, Ohio, Frank (Sandra) Black Jr., of San Antonio, Texas, Sally Higenbotham, Peggy Reed, William Davis, Gregory Roth, of Tennessee, Betty Wychowanec, of Vermont, and Bonnie Schaller, of New York; seven great-nieces and great-nephews, Timothy (Lisa) Ehresman, of Omaha, Nebraska, Matthew Ehresman, of Wadsworth, Mary Jo (Michael) Marcheschi, of Lovettsville, Verginia, Robert (Pam) Niles, of Easley, N.Carolina, Drew Niles and Dawn Marie (Robert) Oswalt, both of Columbia, S.Carolina, and Frank Black III, of Austin, Texas; and eight great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Elizabeth Marcheschi and Joseph Marcheschi, both of Lovettsville, Verginia, Joseph Niles and Allysa Niles, both of Easley, N.Carolina, Jacob Niles, of Columbia, S.Carolina, and Zachary Ehresman, Tyler Ehresman and Ryan Ehresman, all of Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary W. Black; three brothers, Andrew, John and Steve Wychowanec; and a niece, Ann Marie Davis. Graveside services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
