HELEN L. HUENKE, 82, died at 2:50 p.m. April 21, 2007, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Delphos, Ohio. She was born April 25, 1924, in Youngstown, Ohio to Harry and Edna Dettman Weldgen, who preceded her in death. On September 6, 1945, she married Theodore Huenke, who died December 22, 1994. Mrs. Huenke was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and was retired from the credit department at Sears. She was an avid reader and talented writer. She loved her family and church. Survivors include eight sons, Gary Steven (Patty) Huenke, of Pensacola, Florida, Ted E. (Karen) Huenke, of Syosset, New York, Joseph (Anita) Huenke, of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, James (Elaine) Huenke, of Columbus, Ohio, Robert "Bo" Huenke, of Lima, Ohio, Roger (Debbie) Huenke, of Providence, Road Island, and Daniel (Katie) Huenke and Thomas Huenke, all of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Connie Ritter, of Lima, Ohio, and Mary Rose (Brian) Sohner, of Hilliard, Ohio; three sisters, Sister Edna Mae Weldgen, O.S.F. of Milwaukee, Sister Barbara Weldgen, O.S.F. of Boston, and Sister Rose Martin (Alice) Weldgen, O.S.F. of Milwaukee; and 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion Weldgen Siefker and JoAnna Weldgen. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The Rev. William Rose will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a parish wake will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
