93 of Lima, Ohio died on Monday, August 27, 2012, 11:15 A.M. at Springview Manor Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio.
Born Monday, April 14, 1919 in Lima, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Cassaro and the late Esther (Cole) Cassaro.
Helen married Adolph "Ad" Sarakaitis on November 5, 1940. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1970. Helen retired from Sears Department Store after 20 plus years. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Lima; Eagles Aerie 370, Lima; VFW Post 1275, Lima; and the American Legion Post 96, Lima.
Surviving are: three sons, Mike (Susan) Sarakaitis of Lima, OH, John (Carol) Sarakaitis of Lima, OH and Frank (Debra) Sarakaitis of Prosperity, SC; a daughter, Janice Wagner of Lima, OH; nine grandchildren, Timothy (Susie) Wagner, Matthew Wagner, Kristin (Joel) Kallman, Angela (Dan) Schleter, Eric (April) Sarakaitis, Lora (Greg) Sierschula, Jacob Sarakaitis, Andrew Sarakaitis, Emily Sarakaitis.
She was preceded in death by: a grandchild, David Sarakaitis; a son-in-law, Raymond A. Wagner; a brother & sister-in-law, Robert (Margaret) Cassaro.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Monday, September 3, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio with Father David Ross officiating
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.
Memorial contributions: to St. Rita's Hospice or St. John's Catholic Church Renovation Fund.
