HOWARD L. "BUD" WINGET, 63, died at 3:15 p.m. May 29, 2006, at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus. He was born May 5, 1943, in Celina to Howard L. and Garnet Dooley Winget Sr., who preceded him in death. On Jan. 6, 1968, he married Diana K. Hoenie, who survives in Elida. Mr. Winget retired as a forklift operator from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant after 34 years. He had also worked at Mersmans Furniture Factory, Celina, and had owned a Sohio gas station. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, where he was an instrumental partner in the church sanctuary remodeling project. He had been a member of the Celina Coast Guard Auxiliary. He never lost his love for mechanics and classic cars. He enjoyed woodworking. He was a "Mr. Fixit" and was known as "Pappaw Bud" to many children. He held a very strong and deep faith in God. Survivors also include two daughters, Julia S. (Gregory) Soules of Waynesfield and Jennifer N. (Dustin) Bryan of Columbus Grove; adopted children, James and Barbara Wiechart of Danville, Ky.; five siblings; five grandchildren, Shawn Soules, Brandon Soules, Kailee Soules, John Bryan and Dillon Bryan; and an adopted grandson, Daniel Wiechart. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor John Heyward will officiate. Burial will be in Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
